Abstract:[2,7,12,18-Tetramethyl-3,8-bis ethyl-13,17-dicarboxy ethyl]-porphyrin (II) was directly prepared from hemin in using HCOOH-Fe powder by changing the molar ratio of Fe powder to hemin. The effects of the dostage of Fe powder, temperature, and time on the yield of II were investigated. The results show that the yield of II reaches 97.6% in the molar ratio of Fe powder to hemin 15:1 and the temperature of 120 ℃ and reaction time is 2 h. The target proucts were characterized by means of 1H NMR, MS, UV-vis and IR.
