    Abstract:

Gamma ray graft polymerization was used in this paper to improve the hydrophilicity and cell compatibility of PLA. The materials were investigated by FT-IR, SEM, DSC analysis, water contact angle measurement and water uptake test. The results showed that the modified materials had better hydrophilicity and the contact angle was decreased 8癮nd the water uptake was increased 13.3 times after graft polymerization. The cytotoxicity experiment was carried out to evaluate the biocompatibility of the grafted copolymer. The result indicated that the grafted material has no cytotoxicity and has better biocompatibility; the cell survival rate was 109.3% of 50% leaching liquor and 107.4% of 100% leaching liquor.
