    Abstract:

In this work, acrylic emulsion was chosen as the shell material to prepare 2,3-epoxy-2-methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone (ME) microcapsules. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and nano-particle size analyzer were used to characterize 2,3-epoxy-2-methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone microcapsules. The results showed that the average particle size of ME microcapsules (core-shell mass ratio was 1:7) was 323.5nm, the release rate of ME fom the coating film prepared using it was steady and the antifouling property of the coating film was excellent.
