    Abstract:

A quinoline imidazole boron fluoride dye was synthesized through four -step reactions, starting from methylquinoline. The structure of the compound was characterized by the 1H NMR, 13C NMR, MS. Its ultraviolet and fluorescence properties had been studied in different solvents, different concentrations and solid film. The results showed that stokes shift of the dye in polar solvent(methanol) was 134 nm, the fluorescence quantum yield was 0.1; stokes shift in nonpolar solvent (hexane) of the dye was 66 nm, the fluorescence quantum yield was 0.468.
