Abstract:MCM-41 was modified by 3-aminopropyl trimethoxysilane, the prepared MCM-41-NH2 was characterized by small angle X-ray diffraction, nitrogen adsorption, transmission electron microscopy and infrared spectroscopy. The MCM-41-NH2 was employed to adsorb methylene blue from water. Experimental conditions, including adsorbent dosage, initial pH of sample solution, temperature and contact time were also investigated. The increase in temperature enhanced the adsorption of MB. Results showed that the adsorption behavior could well be depicted by Langmuir equations and pseudo-second-order kinetic model.
