    Abstract:

An improved Williamson etherification method was reported. Using glucose derivatives, alkali metal hydroxide and benzyl chloride as raw material,n-octane as water-carrying agent, three benzylated glucose derivatives were synthesized. Kinds of water-carrying agent , alkali metal hydroxide, benzylation reagent and the different mole ratio of raw material were selected to investigate the influence on yield. The optimum synthesis conditions were as follows.Hydroxy of substrate, KOH or NaOH and benzyl chloride in mole ratio 1.00﹕1.10~1.15﹕1.10~1.15, using n-octane as water-carrying agent, refluxed at 125~130℃ for 4.0h, gave the three benzylated glucose derivatives in 96.8%~98.2% yields. The structures of compounds obtained were confirmed by FTIR,UPLC-MASS,1HNMR.
