    Abstract:

    PureLi4Ti5O12 was prepared from lithium acetate andtetrabutyltitanate. ThenLi4Ti5O12/ Fe3O4 compound was synthesized as anode material for lithium ion batteries by simple hydrothermal method. XRD, SEMand battery testing system were employed to characterize the structure, morphology and electrochemical properties of pure Li4Ti5O12 and Li4Ti5O12/Fe3O4 compound. The results show that the prepared compound has a good spherical structure, a small particle size(200~300nm), and the electrochemical performance is good. Due to the high theoretical capacity of Fe3O4, the Li4Ti5O12/Fe3O4 nanoparticle compound exhibits a much larger capacity than the pure phase Li4Ti5O12,which can reach around 550.5mA?h/g, and the compound also exhibits superior rate performance over pure Li4Ti5O12.
