    Abstract:

Dimethyl carbonate (DMC) is a widely used as green chemical raw material. Methanol oxidation carbonylation synthesis of DMC is one of the most important synthesis methods of DMC, which has the advantages of high product selectivity, low reaction temperature, atomic economy. The progress of halogen containing copper catalyst and halogen free copper catalyst for methanol oxidation carbonylation to dimethyl carbonate is reviewed. The reaction mechanism of halogen-free catalysts and the influence of activated carbon, graphene and molecular sieve on catalytic performance are discussed emphatically. It was found that the mesoporous structure, defect sites and surface groups in the support could enhance the interaction between Cu and the support, also could inhibit the agglomeration and loss of Cu species and the oxidation of active Cu species, thus the catalytic performance was improved.
