Abstract: Electromagnetic interference pollution has become a great concern with the rapid development of
electronic equipment, therefore, the design of high-performance electromagnetic wave absorbing materials
is in urgent need. Electrospun nanofiber composites have become a research hotspot due to their unique
advantages such as light weight, high flexibility, easy processing and strong compatibility, and are expected
to meet the technical requirements for microwave absorbing materials of "thin, light, wide and strong".
Herein, the absorbing principle of electromagnetic wave absorbing materials was firstly introduced,
followed by discussions on the research progress of electrospinning technology in absorbing materials,
including the composites of electrospun nanofibers and metals and their oxides, carbon materials and
conductive polymers, carbides, as well as the applications in multilayer absorbing materials. Meanwhile, the
advantages and disadvantages of different kinds of composites were also summarized. Finally, the
development directions and existing problems of electrospun nanofibers in the field of microwave
absorption were analyzed.
